I have a file that shows a size of 130 KB. When I open it in notepad it is just a white page, if I select all I can see that it is selecting a big block of something. Is there a program that would help me recover this damaged or corrupted file?

Open the file in a hex editor. Notepad will hide the value of certain non-ascii characters. A hex editor lets you see what's actually inside the file.

Pretty much. Or if they're all 0D (a blank space). Hopefully you just have a null character at the beginning of the file and Notepad is just cutting off there. You won't know until you look inside.

Not 0D, I meant hex 20. Sorry HTML is overriding hex in my mind right now ;)

I open the file with the hex editor and all the values are 00. Because of the size of the file I was hoping I would find a way to recover what is there.

You may be able to recover from your server, if you have direct access to it. If you are downloading this file via FTP there isn't much you can do.

If you have direct access to the server, you can see if volume shadows was turned on, see if regular backups were being made, or maybe even try some disk recovery tools to figure out what the previous contents of the file was, but again at this point the chances of recovering the file are not looking good.
