BrightStor 11.5sp3 for SQL 2008 cluster failed to create registry

Hi gang,

I am installing BrightStor 11.5sp3 on both nodes of a new SQL Server 2008 MSCS cluster. The nodes themselves are running Win2k3 R2 Enterprise x64, if it makes a difference at all. Installation completes just fine. But when I enter in all the SQL instance information, I get a popup message stating "failed to create registry for SQL instance". I cannot find anything in any logs to give any more info. I've tried using SQL authentication, Windows authentication, the domain account the SQL cluster services run under, a God-mode domain admin account we have, etc. Nothing works.

Has anyone else seen this message before? Is this (hopefully not) an issue with BrightStor and SQL Server 2008 in general, regardless of clustering, etc? Thanks!

SQL 2008 requires atleast Arserve r12.0
Check : https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/anonymous/phpdocs?filePath=0/4536/12/4536_12_compmatrix.html
Note from the link:
As of now SQL 2008 cluster support is available only for x86 architecture for Windows 2003 and Windows 2008, supported editions and service packs are as mentioned for their respective OS editions

So for your setup, you need Arcserve r12.5
