Hello,

I get the following error on our HP m2727mf printer's LCD display "Scanner Error 5 please turn off then on". We turn it off then back on but still get the error. We cannot scan but can print to it from connected computers. When we print there is a pop-up that states the same Error 5 message. Any ideas?

Thanks.

quick google search shows lots of "scanner error 5" problems with hp multifunctions of various models. all of them point to it being a motor or logic board fault in the scanner unit. only solutions offered seem to be replacing the whole unit, but i guess you didn't want to hear that...
