When i send a text message sometimes junk values like '@' get appended automatically to it.Is it a problem with the phone or with the network?Sometimes even messages i receive also show the same junk values.

Updating the phone software via the Nokia website may fix the problem. But all your sms', photo's, contacts, music etcetera will be deleted after the installation of the new software!! A back-up is necessary in the case you update the software!
Or you can contact the store where you bought your 6300. They may know a solution.
Hope this helps.
