How can I change data series labels on a chart in Open Office
I am creating my first charts in Open office 2.4. One of my charts consist of three rows of data, across 10-15 columns. The charts display as I want, but the data series label for all three rows of data, simply say "1". I would like to change them to something meaningful, but have not been able to figure out how.
I can send the .ods file for examination. I could not attach it to this question without converting it to an xls first, and thought that might strip out info you need on how I have the chart set up
I have OOo Calc 3.0, but I believe the steps are the same.
You will need to put your labels in three cells (for example in D1 you can put the label for series 1 - like "MySeries1").
Then right click on your chart and choose Data Ranges.
Select the Data Series Tab
Select each series
In Data Ranges, select name
In Range for Name put in the cell with the series name (for example D1 - or better yet, you can click select data range button on the right and then select the cell from your sheet.)
Click OK
Let me know how that works.
