I find it very annoying that Skype takes control of any number it thinks is a phone number in my browser window and then displays the skype setting and skype flag on there.  It annoying only displays part of the phone number and I then I have to check the properties to see the full number.

I cannot seem to find the setting anywhere to prevent Skype from controlling phone numbers on my internet browser sessions.  Any suggestions on how to switch this off?

Thanks.

Go into the add-ons or extensions of your browser and disable the Skype add-on or extension.  IE - Tools, Manage Add-ons.  Firefox  - Tools, Add-ons.
