hi pravinasar,
Both of the links you provided doesn't give solution to my question. I can add activeX in form and I don't want access from the server-sdie code. What I want is, when a client access the page where activeX control is added, and he doesn't have activeX installed in his computer, I want to detect it using javascript or whatever method possible and allow him to install it by click of button etc. what are the files needed for him to install the activeX? How can I provide those files?

thanks in advacne

Do you mean Arbortext IsoView ?  (Arbotext IsoView)

For Navigator/Firefox plugin check providing  name is enough

If you see the script for detectPlugin(), it check for Name and/or Description Matching.

When you are doing check for IE with VBScript,  look at the call for CreateObject ("...") , you need to know the
complete name.

For an activex control  with IE,

Look at

http://www.tristar.com/software/docs/isoview-documentation.pdf

Use codebase attribute to specify location of activeX

So that if it is not installed, browser will know from where to look
