I have a ML 350 G2 server that is my current backup server running W2003. It has a Compaq 64Bit/ 66mhz dual Channel Scsi card installed. I have attached an IBM System Storage MT 3573 L2U, but it only recognizes the unit as a sinlge device instead of a library. Backup Exec 11d is installed. The media changer does not appear in Device Manager. What can I do? Or is my server too old?

hi yponson,

which driver have you installed on your WS2K3 for the 3573 L2U (TS3100) ?
Do you see any unknown device on Device Manager ?

Have a look at the following sites

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=1154&context=STCZU45&dc=D430&uid=ssg1S4000189&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

(you can reach this last surfing from 1st)

I installed the drivers provided by Symantec Backup Exec. No unknown devices. The tape unit shows up in the list, but not the media changer.

When I installed the drivers it became worst. I uninstalled everything, but I cannot get my tape drive to work. The Scsi is timing out.
