Microsoft Index Server on Windows2008

Hi All,

I'm looking to move over to a Windows2008 server shortly, and need to use Index Server, and have a couple of questions:

1. Is it still known as Index Server - as I can't seem to find much info on it?

2. Can it be scheduled to run during a certain period of the day - e.g. overnight only.

3. Can it be configured/restricted to only spider/index certain parts of the file system?

Regards

Hi JamWales,

Have a look at How to install and configure the Indexing Service on a Windows Server 2008-based computer
