Problems building site after deleting bin / obj / ClientBin folders - "only content controls are allowed directly in a content page that contains content controls"

Hi,

I've deleted all the bin, debug, and ClientBin folders in an ASP.NET / Silverlight project to prepare the project for entry into source control. now I get the error message when trying to build:

"only content controls are allowed directly in a content page that contains content controls" for several .aspx pages.

Clicking the errors in visual studio doesn't take me to anthing useful. The pages listed don't all include UserControls, but some may.

What could be the problem here?

This seems to be a red herring type error message - I really cant see a problem with any of the example pages

Ok, it was a red herring.

I commented out everything in all the pages reporting the error as listed above, and then got an  error saying that the application could not find something in the System.Web.Silverlight name space. I added a reference back to the System.Web.Silverlight dll into the web project, and presto!
