I had to defrag my offline edb. I have SCR configured and running. I should of stopped it before the defrag. Now the transaction logs will not truncate and flush since they are waiting to be replayed to the target server. What do I need to run in powershell to disable and remove SCR configuration. I want to wipe it clean, do backup (flush the logs), then I will set it up again.

Thanks,

If SCR target is not available then you won't be able to disable SCR through the Management shell.

- You have to do the same from ADSIEDIT.MSC.
- There is an attribute called "MSExchStandbycopyMachine" on the properties of the name of the Storage Group where you enabled SCR.
- This attribute will have the name of SCR target machine, you can clear this value and SCR will be disabled for that SG.

- Let me know if you have any difficulties finding the same.

Open the ADSIEDIT:-

- If the OS on Exchange is Windows 2003 then you have to install windows support tools.
- Once the support tools are installed then you can goto start->All programs->Windows support tools-> Command prompt.
- Then on the command prompt window, please type "ADSIEDIT.MSC".
- Expand the "configuration container"-->CN=Services--> CN= Microsoft Exchange--> CN= Your Exchange Organization name --> CN= Administrative Groups --> CN=Exchange Administrative Group --> CN=Servers --> CN=Exchange server name --> CN=Information store --> CN=Storage Groups.

- Right click the "CN=Storage Group" and goto properties, then in the attributes tab find an attribute with name "MSExchStandbycopyMachine" and clear this attribute if you want to disable SCR.

NOTE:- "CN=Storage Group" is the one on which you are planning to disable SCR.
