asp.net vb.net image in gridview causes displacement in other html element

I have a gridview column template with an image. If i remove the image from this column template all page renders well, but if i put an image, the menu area of page is messy in master page.  But in all other pages all works well.

Who is Participating?

Maybe if you could post the ASPX file code for Grid I might give it a test and see why this is creating problem for you.
And from the above statement of yours I understand that you are facing it in IE but not in IE while earlier when I said that it was in design mode of VS, you did not mention this.
Further, check if you have all the latest patches and service packs installed for your VS version because some versions of VS2005 and VS2008 had such bugs and later those were fixed.

I think you are having this problem at the design time within VS.
First, it is normal and by default behaviour.
Second, to overcome this problem, enter into Edit Templates and select the column where image is placed. Select the image object and set its height and width properties.
Third, if the option above does not work, go to Source View of the page, locate the template column, and create a DIV or a TABLE (with single row/single cell) having a fixed height and width around the Image control.
Hope it helps.

OK. Try providing a path to an image/icon which is small in size as per your requirements because at runtime you might be binding the images from code behind and providing a path to one of those images at design would not hurt much to the functionality of the code/page. See if it could help.

moghazali, thanks for your excellent help, but the problem was the vertical alignment on a cell in master page. No grid problem
