We are looking for a good corporate web filtering software. We have received quotes from Websense and CyBlock and would like to know any other suggestions people might have. We want as much control as possible. We need to control about 200 users, 50 of which are at a remote location and we need to control them as well. We are running a Server 2003 system with Cisco firewalls. We need to be able to filter websites, as well as IM usage and possibly log all IM conversations. We need to be able to run reports on users in order to know what websites they visit. Please let me know if you have used the Websense or Cyblock and what you think or if you currently use something else and would like to suggest or tell me to stay away. All legitimate and helpful answers will receive points.

We've used Websense, 8e6 and currently using a solution from Sophos (AV, Internet filter, email spam filter).

MXlogic is also good.

You may want to check with your ISP. Many prviders have their own that wor well. AT$T has Scansafe and Sprint has their own.

We are also running Websense in our environment.  It has excellent reporting for what you are looking.

Just remember, depending on what you want websense to do, you will need a mid to high i/o server.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

You can consider also SmartFilter and GFI websecure.
Websense has the advantage of controlling protocols as well as browsing. Do you have a proxy? (ISA for example), or you want it to integrate with your Cisco firewall?
St BErnard is good but is a device installed on the perimiter.

Thank you everyone for your input. We have purchased Websense and absolutely love it.
