What are you talking about? abnd ? "latest Unix OS" ? "code based"?
What do you need and for what purpose?
If you need UNIX source code you should buy Caldera corporation.
If you want to understand how unix alikes work - minix or openbsd are of help.
If you just need alternate desktop - ubuntu or mint are of help
