Exchange 2007 SP1
Single Exchange Server Environment

I need to know if there is a way to setup a Send Connector in Exhange 2007 that is used exclusively to route outgoing emails from a particular internal email account.  We have an automated process that sends mass emails out to our customers so I want those emails to use a different send connector than all our other internal mail.  The reason is that our current send connector routes all meails thru a smarthost mainained by an outside vendor.  I don't want the emails from our automated mailer to be relayed thru the smarthost, but instead to go directly from us to the recipient's server.

Can I accomplish this using some sort of rule?

Routing in exchange is recipient based, not sender.
So, you can't route emails from one account in a different way.

If all your emails goes to a couple of domains, then you can configure a send  connector for those domains. Exchange doesn't care about who is sending.
