.flv file showing a blank screen

Hi there - I've received a flv file to place on website, however when i open it flash player opens with a blank screen.  I've read that i can import it into a fla file which I did and was able to view but when i publish it the same thing happens, blank screen. Any ideas?

how did you import the file? describe your process.

CS3 -- and I opened up flash and created a new fla.  From there i've selected file - import and navigated to my flv file.  The file imports but when i publish it it displays a blank screen.  Here's the url to the video -- http://www.creativesuccess.com/wbztv-com.flv

okay i think you've done it wrong somehow there's nothing wrong with the flv file
did you select import to stage/import to library or import video.
a dialogue box should pop up asking you for video and video playback settings then put a flv playback on the stage.
did it do this?

is your video in the library of the file.

ok, i selected import video -- The file resides in the library.  Its name is displayed as FLVPlayback and type is labeled as Compiled Clip.

can you view other flv's on your machine? i.e you tube.it might be a problem with your specific machine setting.
i can't replicate your problem. zip your file up change your .fla extenstion to .txt - lets see what's happening.

Sorry for the delayed response -- This is my first file of type flv -- I've always used swf and could view locally as well as post to web.  I need to post this to the web but maybe I need to change the format? or is there something special within the html to place this video on an html file?

Thanks, blue-genie. I'm thinking it must be the file type thats causing the issue on my end somehow.  I dont need to post this at the moment but may need to really figure out my issue in the near future. Thank you for all your input!
