HP 9250 - Error Executing Digital Send Job

We  have several of these devices that have been setup/configured for use with the HP digital sending software successfully.  This time, after successful setup and verification that device was on network and authenticated me with LDAP,  went to send test scan-to-email.  Job appeared to be processing okay, then returned with the error: Error Executing Digital Send Job - Job Failed". Verified that the SMTP gateway is working okay.  Any solutions or suggestion would be helpful.

could be several things:

depends on how you have setup to send your E-Mail. there are two options:

- Send directly from the device
- Send via the Digital Sending Software

you probably have either set and the smtp is refusing the connection. If you are sending emails through the digital sending software and have set "send directly from the device" then the smtp might not know the device (because it only knows/authenticates emails from the digital sending software). To check this double click the device in the device list in the digital sending software, email tab, it's a drop-down-box value.

Or also, you could try this: In the list of devices in the HP Digital Sending Software you could do a copy/paste of a configuration from a working device.

Thanks, after checking the setting in the digital sending software email tab, changed setting from "send directly from the device" to let software manage and tested okay.
