I am experiencing issues troubleshooting a problem where it indicates that MSXML6 is corrupt.

The OS is vista business.

If i right click the .MSI and choose "uninstall', i get an error that this action can only be performed for products that are installed.  If I install it, it finishes in less than a second saying it was sucessfully installed, however it does not show up int he add/remove programs list.

To resolve this issue it seems i need to uninstall and reinstall MSXML6.
Any ideas on how to resolve this and why MSXML6 doesn't show up in the add/remove programs list?

Hi,

Download the Windows Uninstaller Cleanup utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Find the MSXML6 and uninstall it from there.

Let me know,

Rgds.

It seems that the xml parser is a core component of vista and cannot be uninstalled.
a manual uninstall and reinstall of the problematic app resolved the issue, but figured i'd pass along that apparently it's not possible to do a reinstall of the xml parser on vista.

Hmm, I have tested this solution myself but on a server with the same issue and the uninstaller helped. Thanks for the tip.

Rgds.
