We are involved in a decision taking process. We would like to know about pro's and con's of Symantec enterprise Vault and Commvault compared to each other.

We are looking for an archiving solution, and we would like to compare these two products.

Any links or expierences with these products would be very helpful.

Hi,

I've been though this path not so long ago.
Commvault is nice IF you used the whole set of function (from Backup to Archive).
CommVault Archive without the backup process is missing "something"
If you look for pure archiving, Enterprise Vault is the way to go. the product is really desigend to do archiving, nothing less, nothing more.

Check with your local CommVault Rep.
CV offers some nice advantages in performance, scalability and most important of all selection of users that archiving applies to.

Coupled this with their DeDup and you get a real winner.
