Hi,
Everytime one of our clients backs up one of their 2 quickbooks company files an error always appears upon verification of the company file forcing a rebuild.

Below is the respective quickbooks log containing log data during a verification. I can not find any description of the message errors and am hoping someone else has come accross this problem before.
The quickbooks company file seems to work fine and my client says this has been occuring for the last 6-8months. They have printed full reports of the company and found no errors in the accounting section so they had just been ignoring the error.

Other than removing the file name from the log, what other changes did you or your client make? What version of QB is the file in? U.S.? (While it doesn't appear to be a US version, I will give advise as if it is. Most information should be the same, but I have not work in all other versions.)

Depending on what you and your clients want will depend on what steps you need to take. To simply get rid of the message when creating a backup, you can turn off the option to do a Complete Verification. Click the Option button that should come up on the 2nd screen when creating a backup. I would first try selecting 'Quicker verification' before no verification, but that may still trigger the rebuild message. This will take care of the message, but not the root cause.

Resort the lists. (COS, Item and Names) Run a verify on the file, then, regardless of it passing or failing, run back to back rebuilds on the file. After that, try the verify again. Hopefully it will pass. If not, check the QBWin.log again. If it there is any damage that can be corrected be an end user, it will tell you. If not, you will have three main options. Try to get Intuit's Data Service department to fix the file (typically at a fee.) Start a new data file, or just ignore it.

While starting a new data file is never fun, there are 3rd party apps and companies that can help you with it. As far as ignoring the issue, remember this is someones finicials you're dealing with.

I have spoken to Rekon in regards to this issue and from their advice and stlinae's advice I have decided to start a new company file and archive the current company to reduce the company files size; starting a new file for this financial year. Currently the size of the company file is over 2GB which could be half the issue not to mention is does not help in troubleshooting as each verify takes about an hour.
