Cisco pix Warning, DHCP pool range is limited to 256 addresses

I need to use a class B subnet and when I put in the command

dhcpd address 172.16.0.100-172.16.3.254 inside
I get the error message Warning, DHCP pool rang is liminted to 256 address

the inside ip address is 172.16.0.1 255.255.252.0

I'm afraid this is right. it is a software limitation. you going to need external dhcp server.
