hello experts,

i have zonealarm as our security software installed at work, but for some reason the zonealarm tool in outlook is not appearing.
hence no emails are being filtered, i am getting loads of junk emails sitting in my inbox now.
i have tried reinstalling the software, checked the junk email filter on but nothing seems to have worked...

please can someone advise?

thanks

Can you do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner based at: http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/virusscanner and see if you find any infections in your PC, that could be stopping the email plugin from working.

hi warturtle:

thanks for your input, have tested with the online scan as suggested and have found no virus or anything.

i have also tried removing the zone alarm completely and installed again to see but there seems to be no difference at all .. unable to active the zonealarm spam filter...

I see... follow the instructions on the below link to get to the Add-Ins list within Outlook and see if ZoneAlarm addin is present there and disabled:

You must open Outlook 2007 and then goto Tools->Options->Other tab->Advanced Options and then within the Com Add-ins enable the MailBuddy Outlook Add-in.

It might appear as another name such as Sonic.

Oops, there was some confusion, sorry. If you goto Tools->Trust Center-> You will see a list of enabled and disabled items, this is where you should look for MailBuddy add-in.

Could you please install SuperAntiSpyware (www.superantispyware.com) on that PC and scan with it? I hope that its not malware which has hidden itself from ZoneAlarm antivirus.

From what I understand, the error is about the COM addin which is not loaded in the background, this is why it says Load Behaviour = is not loaded. Its quite possible that the ZoneAlarm addin has been disabled or de-registered from the system.

You can shut down Outlook first of all. Then goto

Start->Run-> regsvr32 mlfoshim.dll

Then you will get a popup that tells you that it succeeded (hopefully) and then, you can start Outlook again and see if its functional again.

Although, another reason could be malware this is why the SuperAntiSpyware tool might help with this.

Thats good stuff!! Looks like something de-registered it from Windows and we registered it back, so that the programs could have access to it.

The threads between warturtle and newbie27 helped where ZoneLab tech support failed. Thanks
