BESCAL Locked by Deleted User

I removed a user from the Blackbery Enterprise Server but they are still holding the license.  I want to add another user but the BES keeps telling me I don't have a license.  How do I refresh this to reflect the fact the user holding the CAL has been deleted?

If you have BlackBerry Enterprise Server and you are in the Users tab you will see a User Pending Delete tab, just select it and right mouse click on the users and select Purge.

If you are using BlackBerry Professional it doesnt have a "Users Pending Delete" tab so you cant manually purge accounts. In order to purge a user when using BlackBerry Professional open the command prompt and type osql -E and then enter the following commands:

1>use BESMgmt
2>select DisplayName from UserConfig
3>go

A list of users will now be displayed, note down the user that can't be removed or re-added e.g. Gary Cutri (This example name has been added to the next step). Then run the following commands if the affected user was listed:

1>use BESMgmt
2>delete from UserConfig where DisplayName="Gary Cutri"
3>go
1>exit

I get a SQL server does not exist or access denied error.

I'm using MSDE, does that matter?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

These are MSDE and SQL commands.  Is the database on another server?

Logon as an Administrator and run the commands.

Tried that already.  Do I have to list the database somehow?

Using the BESadmin account go to Start > Run > Type svrnetcn.exe

You need to ensure TCP/IP and Named Pipes is in the Enabled Protocols field.  Now you need to restart the SQL Server service.

C:\Documents and Settings\besadmin>osql -E
[Shared Memory]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
[Shared Memory]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).

Thanks for your help, had to add the -S [server]\[database] tag to the osql -E command to get it to work.  After that it was gravy.

Thanks
