Hello,
I have SBS 2003 and i want to receive SBS reports.  I configured the service in the server management snap-it,  i see that it is recording information properly but it will not send the report email.  I get the following error in event viewer:

EVENT ID:4353

An error occurred in attempting to send a Server Status Report in e-mail. The e-mail message was not sent. There may be a problem with connectivity or system configuration. Ensure that the ASP.NET State Service and IIS Admin service are running. You can also try resetting your monitoring and reporting preferences. To do this, open the Monitoring and Reporting taskpad in Server Management, and then click Set Up Monitoring Reports and Alerts.

I made sure that the ASP.NET State Service and IIS Admin services are running I also tried to run the wizard again but no luck.

For clarification: You are using the Reports and Monitoring section in the SBS Console to set up the reports and input the e-mail address for the daily status and bi-weekly usage reports?

When you click on the Reports and Monitoring link in the SBS Console, does the report come up?

Verify that the tasks in the Task Scheduler for gathering data for the reports are 0x0 (clear status). If they are not, verify that the account they use has the correct password.

Clarification: I am using Reports and Monitoring in the SBS Console. I have setup the daily status and bi-weekly usage reports.

Then I click on the reports in SBS console the report displays fine. When I go into Change Server Status Report Settings and click on Performance report and click Send Now it waits for a while and then failes to send. It gives the following error in the Application Event Log.

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      SmallBusinessServer

Date:            5/18/2009
Time:            6:34:00 AM

I have checked the ASP.NET and IIS Admin services and even restarted them which consequently restarts a lot of services, but to no avail.

I checked the account and password in task scheduler all looks ok there but with it happening in the setup for server status reports I figure it is something else anyway.

P.S. I manage about 50 SBS servers and all work fine this one was working fine and all of the sudden it stopped. checked the internet a few other people have same problem but no solutions.

Check the Task Manager for the various events. Make sure that the account used for the task's permissions is set correctly. Reset the password for any service using the domain admin account.

What version of ASP.NET is tied to the R&M subdirectory in IIS? It should be 1.x.xxxx.

Finaly figured out this problem. IIS was setup incorrectly and was only accepting requests from a specific IP address. Finally had to reconfigure IIS in order to get this working and now all is working fine.
