A SPF record shows people you're sending to that you're allowed to send.  It's so your mail goes through, not to prevent spam.

Here's all the details: http://www.openspf.org/

A standard SPF record is as follows:

v=spf1 mx -all

This tells servers that check SPF records: Mail being sent from domain.com is allowed to be sent by a server located at the same IP address as the MX record (mail.domain.com, for instance, your Exchange server).  Do not trust any mail sent from anything except my one host (mail.domain.com).

Here is a link that will help you implement a check of SPF records for your anti-spam solution:

http://www.openspf.org/Implementations

It has instructions for many AntiSpam software.

Also see: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mail-SPF/
And: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mail-SPF/bin/spfquery

Both of those look like they work with SA
