Hello everyone,

Got a few Backup Exec LEO questions for ya'll. My current indisposition to use https bars me from the symantec forums, and you guys are usually both faster and more reliable anyway.

I have recently received a new HP StorageWorks MSL2024 robotic library with 2 LTO4 tape drives in it. Unfortunately we did not know that we need a Library Expansion Option license to go with the second drive, so we are now looking into buying that. My questions in this regard:

1) Is the LEO installation files already present in our Backup Exec 12.0 SP3 installation (only needing to be unlocked by the license) or do we need extra software to go with the license?

2) Will we be able to use the library with just one tape drive without installing LEO? (intermediary solution until the license is purchased ofc.)

Thank you and best regards,

/L

The answers would be

1) Yes - you have everything already. Just add the license
2) You should be fine with just one drive.
