Can not uninstall Trend Micro Security for SMB 3.5

I am trying to install kaspersky small office security instead of trend micro wory business advanced, i followed all the KBs on the trend support website, there are no more trend micro services or keys under the registry, followed all the instructions and used Ccleaner to clean the registrey keys, restarted the server many times, uninstalled all of the hidden devices. the kbs  i have used are:

Kaspersky installer refused to install the software saying that trend micro security server for SMB 3.5 is installed, there is nothing under "add remove Programs", i tried to use the windows uninstaller too, but couldn't find anything related to Trend micro as i am sure that i did uninstall it!

i have searched the registry and there  for the string "Trend", there are no keys related neither to smex!!

I am really stuck can you help please!

You could try the msiexec /x command, as specified in option 4 (bottom of the page) here:

I am talking about Messaging Security for SMB 3.5 on a SBS 2003 not PC c-Cillin

thanks for your comments "CoSmismgr" but as i said above, i have tried all th KBs on Trend's Website but had no luck to get zat SW out of ze system...

absi81, I had this same problem myself and solved it. The only system that I had trouble with was the server that hosted the SMB suite. I couldn't get rid of Trend to install Kaspersky. Here is what I did:

-I performed all of the suggested removal techniques from Trend
-Start the Kaspersky installation
-Choose all defaults until you get to the Choose Setup type window.
-Choose Custom
-Choose to install only the Protection Components
-When that completes, start the installation again and install the other components
It worked for me, good luck!

the problem is that it detects the trend installation before giving me the choice to choose the setup type!
