hi,
Is there any way of resetting the modem.

Once disconnected from the internet, I did try to Query the modem, but it says the modem is being used by an application. I have closed all applications bit no luck.

pls seethe attached log file attached... the last couple of calls are due to trying the Query modem function.

Regards

I see you are running wamp on your PC. It is possible that this webserver is trying to keep the connection open. Check the wamp documentation whether there are any configuration settings available to keep it from having to keep a network connection open. Maybe you have to build some Virtual LAN to do that (don't ask me how, as I don't have enough knowledge there). Disable all the wamp services from automatically starting up to check if they are the cause.

Also disable any other services or apps from starting up automatically that want to keep an Internet connection open, like messengers etc. (like msmsgs.exe).

I also don't know what this is for:

O16 - DPF: {3EA4FA88-E0BE-419A-A732-9B79B87A6ED0} (CTVUAxCtrl Object) - http://dl.tvunetworks.com/TVUAx.cab

I'd also disable the off-line course player from starting up, and google updater etc.

Rindi,

I did try to kill some processes, which I thought are related in keeping the connection live. unfortunately I did not document the killed processes.

after that the modem is getting released properly. Even after multiple restarts, the problem is no more.

I cannot understand the reason.

any way I have accepted your answer.

thanks
