toshiba model 42hl196

there is a red lcd blinking light above the" timer rec" and the set won't turn on.  I've tried manually and still not luck, i've left it unplugged for 20 minutes and replug and still the red lcd light keeps blinking.  do i need a repair man?

"Do I need a repair man? ==> Most likely Yes. The red LED should blink 3 times while the TV is rebooting -- but should then stop blinking (and the blue LED should turn on to indicate normal operation). This sequence is described in your manual on Page 79 [http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/052/05242HL196.PDF ]

Note:   I would first try a reset of the TV before calling for a repair ==> while the LED is blinking, hold the power button on the TV control panel (NOT on the remote) for ten seconds (the manual says "5 or more" ... I'd hold it for 10 to be sure).
