Hi,
I have an HP 2140 mini notebook with a 1024x576 screen
In order to run my desktop development tools I would like to set up a virtual screen of at least 1024x768 and pan around it with the 1024x576 screen.
Is there any way to set up the XP graphics driver to do this?

that depends on the chipset and video drivers you have.
sometimes you can simply tell XP you have that size screen and it will pan and scan.

right click on the desktop and select "properties"  select displaysettings
click on 'advanced settings'
then click on the "adapter" tab
click on 'list all modes' and choose that 1024x768 (if it lets you)
then save it and it should adjust.

The only option I have is 1024x576 when I list all modes

BTW the webbook has 160GB HDD, 2GB RAM, and with an external display of 1280x1024 and wireless mouse/keyboard its more than enough for mobile development.

It's my upcoming 24hours+ on a plane that has me asking about the pan and scan - a 17" laptop is way too big to use in an economy seat ;-)

It's unfortunate that I cant select the resolution for the external display for the LCD

Do you know of any third party solutions that may be able to do this?
