We've been searching the Internet for a functional version of Skype for the  Blackberry Bold 9000 and upto now all have to purchase.

Any EE had any experience with this?

Hi, Skype are releasing an official client for Blackberry which was due at the start of this month.  There are other applications available like IM+ and iSkoot but I would wait a little longer for the official version.

IM+ is the one I would recommend out of the two if you want to try one now.

P.S. iSkoot dials a landline number to make a connection to the Skype network.

Yes...we found that link...unfortunatly it says that skype is staring in beta-mode now; and directly says SKYPE CHAT.  So I don't know if it will permit Skype Talk.

Have u tried it?

I guess the bottomline is cost.  IM+ has  tag for $30 buck and in one of your link I read that Skype will be out soon for Blackberry.

Do you know if the version for Skype for this unit will be for free?

Do you know when its going to be available?

Thanx

Correct, the official Beta version of Skype for BlackBerry was distributed recently so it wont be far off being released.  The official version of Skype is free but to call landline or mobile number you will need SkypeOut credit.
