Hi in my apache tomcat server i created a new host with the name "news" and its app directory is   "newsapps" and i also configured this in my server.xml file as

<Host appBase="newsapps" name="news">
      </Host>
Now i copy a web application called "a2znews" in CATALINA HOME$/newsapps directory(which is newly created by me), but i don't know how to test this application whether it is working or not,
In case of  localhost virtual host(default virtual host in my server) i use url like
http://localhost:8090/a2znews  to open the a2znews application. but i don't know how to open the application which is in "news"  virtual host.

you need an entry in DNS or your hosts file for news which points to the proper IP (probably localhost)
then you can access it like http://news:8090/newsapp

yes i opened the link send by u but i get the message like

Network Timeout

The server at www.news.com is taking too long to respond.

 The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply.

    * Could the server be experiencing high demand or a temporary outage?  Try again later.
    * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
    * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy?  Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
    * Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.
