Disable Web and AIM Load on AOL Desktop Signin

Is there any way to disable Web and AIM from loading on start-up when opening up AOL Desktop 10.1?  When a user for example, clicks a linked email address from a site, using AOL Desktop as the default e-mail client, they don't want Web of AIM to load when just trying to send an email.

Any ideas?

Hi njmatt,

You might want to run msconfig and see if you can disable the IM portion...

Thanks for the response.  However, the AIM and Web portions of AOL Desktop open up within AOL Desktop, they are not separate WIndows applications.  I looked through all the available settings in AOL Desktop, was unable to find anything that relates to the startup of AOL Desktop.

If the option doesn't exist within the AOL application then you are out of luck.

That's what I was thinking.  I'll leave the question open for another day or two to see if anyone else out there has any ideas.
