Health Page for Tomcat

Is there a good health page for Tomcat for a Load Balancer to check?  I'd like something that if it took to long to process it would display a message... I thought about something based on JMX but I cannot find a good example.  Thanks.

Using a hardware load balancer...  not the LB that comes with Tomcat...
