It didn't come with drivers?  If not then try checking out the Intel website for any updates.  If all else fails you "could" try the XP driver but most likely won't work or cause the system to crash.

In my experience a PCI Simple Communication Controller refers to a dialup modem.  Have you also installed a PCI modem in this machine?  If so, what modem?
