video player scrubber

Hi experts,
i have a video player built on netconnection and netstream, i want to add scrubber to it. how can i get the minimum, maximum, current value when video is playing,and scrub functionality out of that

the first question I have is whether or not you are using streaming or progressive FLV playback.

because a scrubber is only used with Streaming typically...  I am sure you can use a scrubber with progressive, but you have to wait for the entire video to load, and then do some calculations of where the scrubber is located on the scrubbar.... then based on that, get a percentage or some number that gives you a value to seek() to the spot in the video you want.
