iPhone Exchange mail synching but not showing ?!

Hi Chaps

I have a problem with an iphone here not showing email when setup to use Exchange, even though it happily verifies the account username and password and shows the warning about the self-cert certificate.

The inbox folder on the iphone is just empty. Hitting the sync button appears to make it check, and it still shows nothing. There are also no other folders or contacts shown after syncing.

The server is an SBS2003 server with a self signed SSL cert on it. We have other iphones which appear to be fine, and a few windows phones which are also fine.

I've checked the /oma web page for that user and it shows all their email quite happily and his email works fine on the other devices, just not his iphone.

Any suggestions how I can dig further in to whats happening ?

Olly

Can you please try to reconfigure your mobile device and verify. As there can some connection issue.

We've tried reconfiguring the account on the device, and connection doesnt appear to be the issue as we have tried via the wifi and via the 3g connection. Also, in each case, we can access the /oma folder in safari from the device and see the emails even when the Mail app shows a blank screen.

Can you once disjoin and reconnect the AD account and mailbox and then see. As if it shows fine in Outlook there should be no issues. Is there any third party software installed on the mobile. Any updates you made since the time it has stopped working.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Hi,
Can you try the active sync test at www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and post the results.
Also if you can confirm that you are using the latest firmware (2.2.1)

Hi,
We have 15 IPhones working with Exchange 2003.  One IPhone would always say connecting but nothing ever came to the phone.  We found that the user had a 6 gig mailbox with 2.5 gig sitting in the inbox itself.  We moved 2 gig into a sub folder below the inbox and email started coming in in minutes.  It seems as long as you keep the inbox some what clean we have no problems.

Thanks for the help chaps. Eventually the issue just resolved itself when the user upgraded to the latest v3 firmware
