you are always better off to use the symantec driver as its 100% certified to work..

just add the tape drive using the GUI and it'll prompt you for the driver type..

Does the Symantec BE 11d already has the latest driver? or do i need to install any software from symantec beforehand for the symantec BE to have the latest driver for the tape drive?

no you dont need to install any drivers other than the BE ones that are already with it.. check on the Symantec site that you have the latest patches and driver updates for your version though..

ok i found this link

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/downloads.jsp?pid=15047&version=BEWNTPVER21690

Do i need to download and install the latest Symantec Device Driver to update the BE 11d, Fortunately i read a forum saying that to update the Driver of the attached Tape Drive, i will navigate Tools/ Wizards/ Device Configuration Wizard.

Does the procedure correct?
To summarize:
- Install the latest Symantec Device Driver from the link above
- Then update the Tape Device Autoloader driver using Device Configuration Wizard

Thanks
