SBS 2008 - USER USAGE REPORT

Hi,

I am looking for a way to pull up which user / computer on our network is using up all the bandwidth . I remember in winsbs2003 we could use ISA to monitor the traffic , but ISA doesn't work on winsbs2008.

Does anyone know how i can achieve this bandwidth usage report in sbs2008.

Thanks
Kirwin

Are you trying to measure LAN bandwidth or WAN usage?

Do you have a hardware router in place for your Internet Gateway or is your SBS Server your gateway?

Hi,

I am trying to measure WAN bandwidht ( internet usage ) .
I do have a hardware router, however i have set the sbs2008 as the default gateway , as this router is very basic.

Thanks,
Kirwin
Short answer: you can use MS Network Monitor to capture this data.

That hard part will be creating the filters in the best way to analyze the data.  I am not very experienced with creating filters for Network Monitor.

Hopefully an expert will chime in.
To get a clear view of who are using internet most and which protocol consumes the most bandwidth, I recommend "WFilter Enterprise".

Other than bandwidth monitoring, WFilter also can block p2p traffic, filter websites and downloading, which helps you a lot to manage your internet access.
