Unable to add Fax Account - no security permissions
We have a SBS2008 domain where users are unable to add a fax account from a server outside the domain. When the fax account is added the following error message occurrs:
"You do not have security permissions to complete this operation. Contact you fax administrator ..."
Here what we know:
the SBS domain admin CAN add the fax server account
users elevated to domain admin cannot
users can login to the Fax server and connect to shares
happens in windows 7, vista and XP
group policy has been updated to disable printer driver security

You mean the fax account inside the MS Fax function? There is a checkbox within the fax server properties on the accounts tab, where you can allow or deny creating of fax accounts.
ASKER
Accounts can be added to the 2008 Fax Server. The problem is a default domain security policy which is preventing domain users from adding a Fax server account from an server outside the domain.
