SSIS Scipt Task - file copy with append

In SSIS I need to accomplish:  copy file1 + file2, file1

Have had success copying using a vbscipt, but not when it comes to appending a file to another.  Would prefer to use the Scipt Task as opposed to xp_cmdshell if possible.

(using SQL 2005)
