1 Tb SATA drive on Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R not visible

I am installing a 1Tb WD hard drive on a GA-EX58-UD3R main board, and the drive is not visible. I have seen this with GA boards before and I am almost certain the issue is in the SATA/IDE settings area of the BIOS.

Can anyone advise what settings to use for this drive/mobo arrangement. Gigabyte as usual make an exceptional board but have no idea how to spell support.

Hi guys,

Even after 20 years one can make a fool of oneself.

The problem was a disk power supply splitter. Failed connection to power.
