what hardware goes with which driver?

If I have a list of drivers (modules) included with a distro, is there an easy way to compile a list of supported hardware?

For instance, I know that sata_nv.ko supports nvidia sata controllers, but I just know that. How could I find this information if I didn't already know it?

I have a list of almost 900 drivers, and I would like to turn that into a list of supported hardware devices.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The only way is to look at the source tree for that particular kernel.  Each driver will have a Makefile that'll list what hardware the driver supports.
Seems silly since SuSE publishes their list here: http://en.opensuse.org/Hardware
