FreeFormText.....?????

Mas500 does have some specialized applications build that work in conjunction with Crystal...and these formulas just baffle me...because they seem so unneccessary... but I'm sure there must be a reason for the FREEFORMTEXT...formulas...they are used throughout the reports in Crystal in Mas500...

That's a good idea.  Maybe he can at least see if using, or not using, the function actually changes anything.  Of course if Mas500 really does need that in the reports, taking it out may also break things.  There's no telling.

Without th eraw data there is no way to know what the function does.  It may be a kind of replacement for rtf or html interpretation.

These types of formulas are used for just about every Column Header......I'll check to see what I can find out... thanks for the input.

I didn't  ever remember using this type of formula or seeing it in Crystal and so wanted to ask.

If the function did actually come from MAS, then they would really be the ones to ask about it.  Who knows, you might be able to find something about it on their site.  FWIW, I tried a couple of Google searches and found nothing useful, but I didn't try searching their site.

 Anyway, you're welcome.  Wish I could have been of more help.
