Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4 Workflow

I am looking to create a workflow that will wait in Leads for an activity to be created. If one is not created within a certain time frame then notify a user/queue etc

I can find the wait for condition but cannot find how to wait for something to be created

Add the first wait condition with the appropriate details (e.g. the activity count check)
Then click on Add- Step and choose Parallel Wait. In the Parallel wait choose workflow timeout of e.g. 3 days.
Then whichever of the two wait conditions completes first will cause workflow on to the next step.

You can do this using Workflow, Activities Count. Activities Count is a number that indicates how many activities are recorded against a record.

In essence, it is a wait condition on the Activities Count becoming greater than 0.  You could also add a parallel wait condition to time out after a defined period.
