Hi All,

Ive had a number that i have discussed on this forum to do with Citrix and printing. i have conquered most of the issues now but i have one remaining issue. I have 20 or so users that connect to a published desktop on 2 Citrix servers. They are VPN users that have a range of HP deskjet printers. At some point in the day someone is connecting (whether its a LAN user or remote user) and they are crashing the CPSVC service.

I cannot find out who are and when this is happening as the event vwr has no info regarding the issue.

Anyone got any ideas of how i can trace this crash?

there a a number of causes for this but the most common is a bad print driver in use on the server.
you may want to verify the drivers on the server and get rid of any that are not in use. Also you will want to check your citrix policy to see if users are being allowed to add drivers.
test if it's a driver you can set a citrix policy to only allow the UPD, if the service stays running it's a driver. There is also a stress printer utility that you can run against the drivers on the server and see if they give any warnings or errors. if they do, get rid of them.
To troubleshoot who may be using the driver cross reference the citrix session logon time with the service crash.
this can also happen if the user has a network printer that is no longer on the network but still on the workstation
