Hope you can help,

If you have a BES inhouse, open port 3101.

Sorry updated info now, Its The BIS servers at blackberry, i take it this needs to have OWA setup on our exchange to be able to connect the BIS at blackberry to our servers?

Is your OWA already accessible externally?  If so, you should be set.  Outlook Mobile features are enabled by default in Active Directory, unless you went back and disabled them for persons.

If you are using POP3 connectivity, then you need to forward port 110 and 995 to the Exchange server.
If you are using IMAP connectivity, then you need to forward port 143 and 993 to the Exchange Server.
Hi, as mentioned above all you need is OWA enabled for the user and it to be accessible via the web.  Once this is confirmed the users just need to create a new account via the BlackBerry Web Client (each carrier has a different page) and add the work email address.  When you add the work address it will fail > Select to manually enter the details > Select the work email option > Select the OWA option > Enter the OWA details.
Just as a heads up the default polling interval for the Blackberry Server to check for new email is 900 seconds with a timeout of 120 seconds.  So if you users mention a 15 minute delay in receiving emails this is normal.
Thanks for all the replys, ok OWA is viewable from external sources but only if i add the security certificate exeption...understandably blackberry if having a hard time with it and still saying it cant find the server.

https://mail.*******uk.com/exchange ---this is how i can get to it externally.

BUT

The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.
The certificate is only valid for webmail.*********bs.com.

Any Ideas on how to change the certificate? and is this why blackberry still wont work?

Cheers Guys really appreciate this.
The BIS servers will accept untrusted certificates so that is not an issue.  In active directory for that user ensure you have an internal email address listed on the Email Address tab (e.g. gary@yourcompany.local) if applicable.
Excellent., thankyou
