Open email attachments take a long time

Hi,
I am been having an issue opening email attachments, or following a url is very slow, taking 1-2 minutes to open.
We are on Exchange 2007 and my client is Outlook 2007.
What do you think the problem could be and how it can be resolved?
Thanks in advance.

That sounds like AV interference in the client. Nothing to do with Exchange or Outlook.

Any sugestions on how i can resolved this issue without having to disable av?
Thank you.
You can't resolve things with removing the AV software to confirm it is the cause of the problem. AV software shouldn't be causing this problem, so it is either misinstalled or configured incorrectly.

Hi Mestha,
I appreciate your help.  However, i was planning to remove AV.
Is there anything else i can try?
Thanks.
Until the AV is removed, there is nothing else I can suggest, as that is the most likely cause.

Simon.
Hi,
Any one else who may have a different advise?
Thanks.

Hi Spring....

Why on earth are you planning to remove your AV ?  Are you mad ???

What Antivirus are you running ?

Thanks
Simon
Hi Legalsrl
What I was really trying to say was that I was not planning to remove AV..Sorry for the confusion..
I am using Norton Symantec 9
What do you think I can do to resolve this issue and preventing from happening again?
Thank you.
Hmmmm.....not sure...but let's try some basics.....

When you try to open an attachment, does the disk light stay on ?

If you open Task Manager, is there any process taking a large percentage of the CPU ?

Have you tried removing the Outlook Addin from the Tools, Trust Center in Outlook ?

Cheers
Si
Hi Legalsrl,
