DBgrid add a summary row

Hello,
I have a dbgrid in which I insert records, the records have fields with integer values, I want to create a new row every time a record is inserted which will give me the sum of the 5 columns which columns have integer values.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you could recreate your query to do this...
otherwise you will need to go for a other option like a second grid below the first with the summarized values or a commercial grid like:
quantumgrid: http://devexpress.com/Products/VCL/ExQuantumGrid/
or tms grid: http://www.tmssoftware.com/site/gridpack.asp

recreate query:
you will have to write your own insert query with catching the beforeinsert event.

select * from (
select a, b, c, d, e, f, g, 0 as data from table
union
select null, sum(b), sum(c), sum(d), sum(e), sum(f), null, 1 from table) as X
order by data, a

your values are usually displayed in so called 'footers'.
so either you use a dbgrid component that has footers incorporated or you will have to do it yourself in code.
