Acer laptop wireless disabled when Ac cord plugged in.

Could any experts shed some light on this issue.  A user has a Acer Extensa 5220 Laptop. When the Ac main is plugged in the wireless is disabled. When you unplug and run on batteries the wireless is enabled.
Currently the user is running on battery and has to recharge before using again. He cannot use a cable as out of office.
Can anyone shed some light on this.
I have checked the power settings on laptop and modifying them makes no diffrence. All drivers are version supplied by Acer.

The setting will be in Acer ePower Management software, as this overwrites the the OS settings, I assume the problem is that when you unplug the power cable it changes the power scheme, you would need to edit all the schemes or delete all the schemes except the one used when the laptop is running off batteries.

If you are using Vista it could be in the advanced power settings that can be access when you are on the standard power settings by choosing an option on the left hand side.
